1. Who We Are
TruckPilot is a fleet management application built exclusively for Canadian truckers and owner-operators. We are operated by TruckPilot, based in Alberta, Canada.

2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide our service:
- Account information — your name, email address and password
- Load data — TMW numbers, routes, dates, earnings and wait times you log
- Expense data — receipts, amounts and categories you enter
- Fleet information — truck numbers, trailer numbers, driver assignments
- Device information — browser type, device type for app optimization
We do not collect your GPS location, track your movements, or access your phone contacts or camera without your explicit permission.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the TruckPilot app
- To calculate your pay, expenses and generate financial reports
- To send you important account and service updates
- To provide customer support
- To improve the app based on usage patterns
We never use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. How We Protect Your Data
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
- All data is encrypted at rest in our database
- Access to your data is restricted to you and authorized fleet owners only
- We use Supabase — a secure, SOC 2 certified database provider
- We never store your password in plain text
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share your data with:
- Your fleet owner — if you are a driver in a fleet, your owner can see your load data
- Service providers — Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (AI features) — all bound by strict data agreements
- Legal requirements — if required by Canadian law or court order
6. Your Rights Under PIPEDA
As a Canadian resident you have the right to:
- Access all personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Export your data as CSV at any time from the app
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for data processing
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by Canadian tax or legal regulations.
8. Cookies
TruckPilot uses only essential cookies required to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through the app. Your continued use of TruckPilot after changes means you accept the updated policy.
